This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs of facility and client audio, video, and technical systems including lighting, sound, video, telephone systems, computer/data systems (internet) and radio and television broadcasts. Essential duties include setup, monitoring and maintenance of all technical/staging equipment related to audio, video, lighting, scoreboard operations, staging equipment, telecommunications, and network. The role involves installation and repairs on phone, network, cable feeds, audio and video services, coordination with telephone system providers, maintaining code requirements for cable insulation and fire routing, solving technical problems, using test equipment, working from blueprints, supervising outside contractors and production crews, maintaining inventory of equipment, providing internet connections with IT department assistance, and coordinating work with operations sections. Knowledge required includes RF cable signals, patch bays, switchers, mixers, converters, and various audio-video-lighting-networking systems. Responsibilities also include IT tasks such as wiring and networking, operating systems during events, maintaining lighting systems, equipment maintenance and repair, event standby and troubleshooting, identifying and terminating audio/video connections, understanding signal flow and wireless systems, and operating forklifts and lifts. The position has minimal supervisory responsibilities and requires a high school diploma or GED, 1-2 years of audio/video installation experience, a valid driver's license, good computer skills, and knowledge of soldering, phone systems, troubleshooting, and programming (Crestron or AMX). Physical requirements include climbing, standing, walking, visual acuity, stooping, hearing, repetitive motion, and exerting force. The working environment may include exposure to shock hazards, vibrations, noise, strobe lights, lasers, and extreme weather. Shifts vary and may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
