Lange Companies is currently looking for a Paralegal join our Team.

 

In this position, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Paralegal to join our dynamic two-person inhouse legal team at Lange Companies, Inc. This legal team plays a crucial role in supporting all legal needs and various business functions of the Company. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in organization and critical thinking, bringing a positive can-do team player attitude with a willingness to learn.

 

This opportunity is available in the following location: St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on corporate law matters under the supervision of Paralegal Manager and General Counsel/VP of HR.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents, contracts, agreements, correspondences, and other business documents.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support ongoing projects from Paralegal Manager or General Counsel/VP of HR.
  • Maintain and organize legal files and documentation to ensure compliance with Company policies and regulations, including internal case management database.
  • Work with Paralegal Manager, offices and/or insurance company representatives to assist with the filing of various claims, draft demand letters, coordinate and communicate with claim representatives, etc.
  • Aid with initiating and responding to collection matters.
  • Identify and collaborate with Paralegal Manager to resolve or escalate issues in a timely matter.
  • Assist with review and production of information and documents for new vendor setups and food safety matters.
  • Assist Human Resources team with updating Company policies, procedures and programs providing continual support on legal matters.
  • Provide administrative support to Paralegal Manager and General Counsel/VP of HR, as well as general support and back-up responsibilities for other corporate office or department tasks.
  • Handle highly confidential and non-routine information with discretion and ensure a high level of confidentiality in all company matters.
  • Complete special projects and other assignments/job duties as assigned. 


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Degree in paralegal studies or related field, with a minimum of an Associate’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting an attorney or group of attorneys within a law firm or corporate legal department, preference if in a paralegal role.
  • Knowledge of legal concepts with proven ability to handle and manage legal tasks.
  • Transactional and business law experience a plus, but not required.
  • Self-starter work ethic who thrives working in an environment with both independent and team tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize workload amid interruption and change in priorities, potentially multiple times a day 
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in an employee-facing, service-oriented position in a culture driven by urgent requests from sales personnel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite products, especially MS Office and Outlooks, is essential.
