Job Description

Pulp Mill Process Improvement Manager FPC Bangor is working with a Northeast paper mill looking for a Process Improvement Manager for the pulp mill. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in developing, enhancing, and implementing initiatives focused on continually improving business performance in the Pulp Mill. Responsibilities: In partnership with Pulp Mill Management, identify and drive strategic initiatives in the areas of operations, maintenance, and engineering to accelerate constructive long-term change Develop and maintain the 3-5 year strategic plan for the Pulp Mill Manage and lead in the areas of engineering, process engineering and continuous improvement Re-engineer equipment and processes, where necessary, to improve efficiency and consistency. Responsible for strategic project planning and execution Development of reports in the areas of project management and prioritization Responsible for developing and driving cost effective, strategic projects and business improvement opportunities. Develop solutions to business problems through in-depth analysis and developing innovative solutions Assist with initiatives to reduce energy associated with Primary Manufacturing Assist in developing budgets, capital expenditures requests, and project management in the Primary Manufacturing Area. Will manage outside suppliers and contractors on projects as needed Key contributor for planning annual planned area outages and provide response to unscheduled downtime events. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Paper Science is preferred. Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • 5+ years' experience in a pulp mill role is required. Supervisory and leadership experience highly preferred. Knowledge of safety and environmental protocols for Pulp Mill facilities is required.
Outstanding communication skills are essential. Must be able to lead a team towards world class performance in safety, quality and production. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word Strong process improvement and problem-solving skill sets are required.
  • Demonstrated results in the areas of strategic planning, change leadership, and project management required
  • The selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
