Job Details

• Administers contrast material according to physician's request by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line.
• Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
• Anticipates set-up and needs for invasive procedures.
• Assists with inventory/supplies.
• Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
• Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.
• Administers medication in compliance with scope of practice.
• Documents accurately and completely.
• Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
• Performs all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist.
• Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
• Required to float to all procedural areas.
• Maintains a clean and neat work area.
• Demonstrates competence in the operation of imaging, physiological monitoring, and related equipment.
• Performs basic troubleshooting for this equipment.
• Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
• Administers and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate.
• Assesses patients for allergies.
• Functions as a scrub and monitor technician on a rotating basis during procedures.
• Assists physician during interventional procedures.
• Able to take call after 6 months of orientation.

Job Requirements

• Cardiac Cath Lab Experience required.
• Interventional Radiology Experience required.

Schedule Information

• Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.

Unit Specific Information

• Required to float to all procedural areas.
• Functions as scrub and monitor technician on a rotating basis during procedures.

Additional Details

• Preferred Skills & Experience: Neuro Interventional Experience, EP Experience.
